Enrichment Wednesdays
We've heard you!
Both parents and our learners alike have asked for more. We heard you and in an effort to meet the kids where they need to be met, we will be trying something different for Wednesdays for 2023/2024
In addition to our weekly learning experiences from 10:00am to 12:00pm, on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday from 1:00pm - 2:00pm we will offer a music experience and on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, we will offer an Art, Yoga and Meditation experience. If you are interested in joining both experiences on Wednesdays, there is an option to stay from 12:00pm to 1:00pm and enjoy lunch and some "down time" as a class - think recess outside, board games, FUN!
At ITAV, we fully embrace the concept that all children are innately musical by building the foundations of music, we are sharping life-long lovers and learners of music. Children learn best through experience and play, making music the perfect venue to develop skills and strengthening cognitive connections.
Our young learners will explore the world of music through:
Our curriculum combines several methodologies, including Orff, Kodaly, and Conversational Solfege. Each lesson will introduce and reinforce several State and National learning standards.
Our music experience is taught by Ms. Emma who has been a music educator for over 10 years in both New Jersey and Maryland. She received her Bachelors of Music from Moravian University and her Masters in Educational Leadership from Centenary University. Her primary instrument is voice and specializes in elementary general and vocal music, as well as elementary and secondary Theater. Emma lives in Mount Bethel with her husband and two young children.
Our Art, Yoga and Meditation Experience is being offered as a collaboration with Spark, a New York City established enrichment program that is centered around art as a way for children to express themselves. Through small class sizes, there is opportunity for personalized attention. Taught by its Founder, Sebastian Alappat, students will start with a foundation of art to build rapport and then introduce the practice of yoga and meditation. This experience exposes students to different mediums, techniques and art history while cultivating mindfulness, confidence and self expression!
Supplies are included in the cost of the class.

The story goes that the term “dough” in reference to money is thought to have originated in the 19th century. Since bread was the staple food needed for life, a person would earn a living to provide bread for his family. Because of this, bread became synonymous with money. In How Much Dough is a Lego, we will introduce our learners to a variety of terminology and concepts associated with money: face value, understanding dollars and cents, making change, reading price tags, etc. Because MANY of our learners love Legos, we thought it best to use them as tool to help us engage our learners in exploring the concept of money as we challenge them to a Lego Stem Challenge. |
